This text to speech tool uses your browser's built-in Speech Synthesis API to read text aloud in any available voice. You can adjust speaking rate and pitch, pause and resume playback, and choose from dozens of system voices in multiple languages. All processing happens locally — your text is never sent to any server.

What voices are available?
Available voices depend on your browser and operating system. Most systems include multiple English voices plus voices in other languages. The dropdown shows all voices your browser supports.
Can I adjust the speed?
Yes. Use the Rate slider to adjust speaking speed from 0.5x (slow) to 2x (fast). The default is 1x (normal speed).
Can I adjust the pitch?
Yes. Use the Pitch slider to adjust from 0.5 (low) to 2 (high). The default is 1 (normal pitch).
Is my text sent to a server?
No. All speech synthesis happens entirely in your browser using built-in system voices. Your text never leaves your device.
