Acerca de GCF Calculator

This GCF calculator finds the greatest common factor (also called GCD or HCF) and least common multiple (LCM) of two or more integers. Enter numbers separated by commas or spaces and get instant results. The calculator shows step-by-step solutions using the Euclidean algorithm and displays the prime factorization of each number. Whether you need to simplify fractions, find common denominators, or solve math homework, this tool makes it easy. All calculations happen in your browser — no data is sent to any server.

Preguntas frecuentes

What is the GCF?
The greatest common factor (GCF), also called the greatest common divisor (GCD) or highest common factor (HCF), is the largest number that divides evenly into all given numbers. For example, GCF of 12 and 18 is 6.
How does the Euclidean algorithm work?
It repeatedly divides the larger number by the smaller and takes the remainder, until the remainder is 0. The last non-zero remainder is the GCF. For example: GCF(48,18): 48=2×18+12, 18=1×12+6, 12=2×6+0. GCF=6.
What is the relationship between GCF and LCM?
For two numbers a and b: LCM(a,b) = |a×b| / GCF(a,b). The calculator shows both values automatically.
