À propos de Unix Timestamp Converter

This tool converts between Unix timestamps (epoch time) and human-readable dates. Enter a timestamp to see the date in local time, UTC, and ISO 8601 format, or enter a date to get the Unix timestamp. A live clock shows the current epoch time. Toggle between seconds and milliseconds precision. Unix timestamps count the number of seconds since January 1, 1970 (the Unix epoch) and are used in programming, APIs, databases, and log files worldwide.

Questions fréquentes

What is a Unix timestamp?
A Unix timestamp (also called epoch time or POSIX time) is the number of seconds that have elapsed since January 1, 1970, at 00:00:00 UTC. It's a simple, timezone-independent way to represent a point in time as a single number.
What is the difference between seconds and milliseconds timestamps?
Some systems use seconds (10 digits, e.g. 1700000000), while JavaScript, Java, and many APIs use milliseconds (13 digits, e.g. 1700000000000). This tool supports both — just toggle the unit selector.
What is the Year 2038 problem?
Systems storing Unix time as a 32-bit signed integer will overflow on January 19, 2038 at 03:14:07 UTC. Modern 64-bit systems are not affected. This tool uses JavaScript's Number type which can handle dates far beyond 2038.
